ASICS Old School Knee High Sport Socks Review
I recently decided to become athletically active again. Hitting 40 and developing a beer gut assisted in this decision. I figured basketball would be a dandy place to start. It is the only sport where I would probably not be a complete boob.
I ordered the socks and while waiting for delivery I found my old polyester shorts from the 70s. They were short and a bit tight on my privates... but hey.. there were cool back then, how much have things changed eh? I picked up a sweat band to round out my outfit. Don't want sweat getting in my eye when I'm storming down the lane taking it to the hole.
Socks arrived. They were better than I expected. Shorts, pro keds, sweat band, knee high socks, and my favorite sleeveless cut off tee shirt. Time to hit the courts. Staring at the mirror I felt intimidated. THAT is a basketball powerhouse I thought.
As I strutted onto the courts like a lion walking among his pride, I felt the respect of the other players. Games stopped and players were whispering to each other. Girls were impressed too. They pointed and giggled in a flirtatious way. No time to flirt back, I was here to dominate the boards like shaq playing a group of third graders... All those that stared knew who the silverback was...
I began to shoot at an empty basket... hoping to be invited into a game.. Alas, it was not to be. The others at the park that day feared my skills. The outfit was too intimidating.
I smiled as I left the courts that day. I had established my presence among the park basketball crowd. I will be back... oh yes.. I will be back. To make sure they remember me I did a burnout in my 76 gremlin as I left the parking lot.
I got to tell you.. these socks finished off the perfect outfit. I would not have been anywhere near as intimidating without them. Going to shave my belly and go shirtless next time. Give the girls a real show.
